FAQ
Straight answers,
including the awkward ones.
Every question owners actually ask on the demo call, answered here so you do not have to book one to find out.

Contracts and cancellation
No. Everything is month to month. There is no annual term and nothing auto-renews for a year behind your back.
Text or email us and say you want to stop. We turn it off at the end of your current month and confirm in writing. There is no retention call and no cancellation fee. You can export your customer list on the way out.
It is your number. If we ported it in for texting, we port it back or release it to you. If we added texting to your existing landline, we simply disconnect the texting and your line keeps working as before.
How the texting works
Your business number. Not a random 10-digit number, not a short code, not our number. We turn on texting for the number your customers already know. If your line cannot text yet, we handle the paperwork with the carriers to make it text-capable while calls keep working the same way.
Yes. Nothing changes about how calls come in or how you answer them. The missed-call text only fires when a call goes unanswered.
Then nothing happens. The text-back only goes out on calls you miss.
Within a few seconds of the call going unanswered. Fast enough that the caller has not dialed the next shop yet.
No. We write them with you during setup, in your words and your trade’s language. You approve every message before it goes live, and you can change any of them later by texting us.
Yes. Add the people who answer for your shop and everyone sees the same threads, so nobody double-replies. Extra locations are an add-on on the pricing page.
Setup
Most shops are live within a week. The longest part is carrier registration, which is required for any business that texts customers and usually takes a few business days. We handle it. Your side is about an hour: one call to go over your services and your messages, and a short training call once it is live.
The founder, personally, along with a small team. Not a call center. You will have a direct number to text if anything is off.
Usually not. We work with regular cell phones, landlines, and most VoIP systems. If something about your setup is unusual, we will tell you on the demo call before you pay anything.
Trades and software
Auto repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lawn care and snow removal, pest control, cleaning, and roofing. If you run a similar local service business and you miss calls while you work, this will fit. Ask us on the demo.
On the Full plan we connect to common shop management and field service systems so jobs, declined work, and service dates flow in automatically. Which systems we can connect depends on the trade and on what your software allows. We confirm yours on the demo call. On Starter and Pro, no connection is needed; you or your team mark jobs in the inbox.
Texting rules and your customers
They are opted out immediately and automatically. They will get one confirmation that they are unsubscribed and nothing else. You can still call them. This is required by carriers and we never work around it.
Texting customers is legal when done properly, and we set you up to do it properly. Missed-call text-backs reply to someone who just contacted you. Reminders and follow-ups go to your own customers about services they have done business with you on. We register your number with the carriers, include opt-out language where it is required, keep records of opt-outs, and do not send marketing blasts to people who never dealt with you. This is general information, not legal advice. Rules vary by state and we recommend reviewing your consent practices with your own advisor.
Not if they are useful and rare, which is how we set them up. A missed-call text is a courtesy. A reminder for a service they already use is helpful. A follow-up on work they asked about is expected. One text per event, no blasts, and anyone can stop with one word. In practice, most replies are people booking work.
Yes. Any message type can be paused, and any customer can be marked do-not-text from the inbox.
Data and privacy
We use it to send the texts you set up, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, share it, or market to your customers. It stays yours and you can export or delete it whenever you want. See the privacy policy for the details.
